It looks like the Sandro deal is done, but for that matter of whether he joins now or in the summer after Internacional’s Copa Libertadores campaign.

Sandro is today quoted in The Mirror, expressing his joy at the move.

“I want my future resolved as quickly as possible so that I can look forward to the next phase of my career. But I am ready mentally for a move to England and that would be a dream.

I am motivated because English football is competitive, I am excited by the challenge and to play in some great stadiums is brilliant for any player.

But I am happy to stay and finish my job here first and then work hard and develop in a new challenge under a new coach.”

Let’s hope he signs sooner rather than later, as we could do with the cover. Apparently Sandro is a big favourite of the crowd at Internacional, who according to his Wikipedia page sing the following song to him, in tribute to his agricultural upbringing.

“Sandro scores the goals, Sandro scores the goals, Sandro scores the goals, so we will give him a cow, and he will milk it”

Catchy. The only problem is that the only cows that I’ve seen in Tottenham are dead and come served between two bits of bread.
