On This Day In Spurs History: 1st April

1967 – Spurs finished third in 1967 and of course won the FA Cup against Chelsea. On this day in 1967 we defeated Liverpool 2-1 at White Hart Lane, with both our goals being scored by Jimmy Greaves.

1989 – Tottenham contribute to West Ham’s relegation by beating them 3-0 at home, with goals from Terry Fenwick, Nayim and Paul Stewart.

1992 – On the same day three years later, Spurs again beat West Ham 3-0 at White Hart Lane. On this occasion Gary Lineker grabs a hat-trick.

The Mirror features an expose of Tottenham’s decision to use Ticketmaster to distribute the semi final tickets, as fans complain about the booking and postage fees.

Predictably, The Sun’s joke is less subtle, as they expect people to believe that referees will soon be whizzing around like Paul Blart: Mall Cop.
