Today In Spurs History: 27th April
1901 – On this day in 1901, Spurs won their first FA Cup final, triumphing 3-1 in a replay against Sheffield United. Cameron, Smith and Brown were on target for Tottenham, as we became the first and only non-league side to win the cup.
1945 – Today is the birthday of the legendary Spurs striker Martin Chivers. Arriving at White Hart Lane in 1968, Chivers played 367 games for us, scoring 174 goals. He remains Tottenham’s all-time top scorer in European competition.
2002 – Tottenham beat Liverpool 1-0 on the final home game of the season, thanks to a goal from Gus Poyet.
