On This Day In Spurs History: 27th May 2010

1967 – Today is the birthday of Paul Gascoigne. Tottenham signed Gazza for a then British record of £2m in 1988 and cemented his reputation as the most gifted player of his generation, whilst at the club. Gascoigne played a total of 112 games for Spurs and scored 33 goals. Legend.

1982 – On this day in 1982, Spurs played QPR in the FA Cup final replay at Wembley. We took the lead through a Glenn Hoddle penalty and were then on the back-foot against Terry Venables’ second division side. Ray Clemence produced several good saved to keep us in the game and Spurs eventually managed to hold on to record a second successive FA Cup win.
