On This Day In Spurs History: 11th June

1966 – On this day in 1966, England kicked off the World Cup by playing Uruguay at Wembley. Spurs’ Jimmy Greaves was playing upfront for England but failed to score as the teams drew 0-0. Greaves would later pick up an injury during the tournament which would bring an end to his World Cup dreams.
