On This Day In Spurs History: 24th June

1965 – On this day in 1965, Spurs played Macabbi Tel Aviv in the John White Memorial Cup. The competition was played in tribute to our Scottish international who was tragically struck by lightning and died, whilst playing golf. We beat the Israeli side 3-2, with goals from Alan Mullery, Dave Mackay and Alan Gilzean.
