On This Day In Spurs History: 30th June

1995 – On this day in 1995, we broke our transfer record to buy Chris Armstrong from Crystal Palace for £4.5m. Armstrong had a successful partnership with Teddy Sheringham in his first season at the club, but struggled somewhat for the rest of his Spurs career. In total he made 173 appearances for the club and scored 62 goals.
