Ralph Coates has died today aged 64, having recently suffered a stroke. Coates made 229 appearances for Spurs and scored 23 goals.

The most famous of those goals was the winner in the 1973 League Cup final against Norwich City and when you think of Coates, the image of him celebrating that goal with his hair blowing in the wind, will be the one that most Tottenham supporters and football fans in general will remember.

  1. RIP Ralph. Met him a Cheshunt Football Club a couple of years ago, he was such a nice guy who spoke so passionately about Spurs.

  2. i remember Ralph Coats well back in the day when i first started to go to spurs games, he was a great little player !…..RIP my man….:((

  3. RIP my old mate. The Gary Mabutt lounge wont ever be the same without you. I worked with you a while and in that time it was an honour. Always a Gentleman and always had time to talk about the mighty whites.

  4. Hahahahaha you are all fucking pathetic and you support a fucking pathetic club. You wont qualify for the UCL next season and you are a bunch of fat jewish cunts
