Rafael van der Vaart has been speaking about his love for Spurs ahead of Sunday’s clash with Manchester United.

The Dutchman has been a revelation since he joined, almost as an afterthought on the last day of the summer transfer window. His goals and all round world class performances have helped us up into fourth place as we prepare to take on the league leaders.

Rafa states: “I love it here. I love the players and I love the down-to-earth attitude at the club,”

He goes on to suggest that we can even lift the title this season: “If we beat them (United), it opens up the league for everyone else who is chasing the title. And that includes us – we’ve got the squad to win the league.”

Rafa rounded off his interview by hinting that he’d like to be at Tottenham for the rest of his career; a sentiment that all Spurs fans would surely share, given the impact that he’s had since joining the club.

  1. He indeed has a great impact on the game of Spurs and with his vital scoring ability has won many games for our team this season. Intelligent, high level of technique, strong personality, a winner’s mentality. Really the kind of player Spurs need to move to a higher level. I hope Spurs will be able to get more such players.
