Rugby legend proposes Spurs and West Ham groundshare

by Matthew Harris on January 21, 2011

We are near to a decision over the long running stadium saga and by the end of January we should know what is likely to happen. It seems that a decision on the preferred bidder will come on the 28th of this month and if Spurs get it, we may end up with more questions than answers. Will we be Stratford Hotspur, and with the transfer deadline finishing as well, what the hell am I going to write about next month?

Yesterday’s main development concerned Crystal Palace and their plans to move to the national sports centre. Spurs had planned to redevelop this stadium in line with the ‘athletics legacy’ and Palace’s plans seem to go against this.

You can’t really blame Palace, as anyone who’s been to Selhurst Park will testify. Plus the majority of away supporters always get lost and end up at the athletics stadium anyway, so it all makes sense.

Meanwhile, debate rages on. Alan Pascoe is the latest to come out against Spurs plans, saying that we will be breaking a promise made to the whole world if they go ahead.

Finally the most ludicrous suggestion comes from the former England rugby legend Brian Moore, who speaking in his newspaper column, has suggested a ground share between Spurs and West Ham. Can anyone possibly see that being popular with anyone?

This is the most stupid idea ever. Even considering moving out of North London is dumb, but sharing with championship side (they will be) West Ham is a joke. I d rather share with the goons.
Harry better win the league and champions league in the next two years. East London Hotspur is a joke, mr Levy. This is as stupid of getting rid of Martin Jol because the team didn’t finish 4th.

Why don’t we move to “Woolich Arsenal’s” new ground, at least they would see a decent non cheating team play there!.
