Bassong staying at White Hart Lane

Another player who is likely to remain at the Lane for the foreseeable future is Sebastien Bassong.

Given Spurs’ injury problems at the back, it is unlikely that the club would want to let him go now in any case, but with his first team chances restricted, it had been rumoured that Bassong would be gone this month.

In December, Bassong was asked about a move to Paris St Germain and he encourage these rumours by declaring that he has always been a fan of the French side.

However, it appears that he has had some ‘clear the air’ talks with Harry Redknapp: “I said to him (Redknapp) what I thought, how I saw the things and he gave me answers. When you do not speak with your coach, it is hard to know what he thinks. Things were said. Today, I am quite glad to have had this discussion. I will remain in Tottenham. I belong to Spurs.”

So Seb belongs to Spurs – for now at least.
