Fortunately our back four played their ‘A’ game last night and there was no repeat of our recent performances at Wolves and Blackpool. Vedran Corluka was a welcome sight in the line up and William Gallas, who made that vital goal line clearance, showed just what it all means to him with his celebrations at the final whistle.

Just in front of them, a young Brazilian is really starting to make his mark at White Hart Lane. Sandro has made great strides in the last few weeks and his contribution was hailed by his manager last night.

“I thought Sandro was immense in midfield,” Harry Redknapp said after the game.

“He’s powerful, strong, aggressive. He’s got the ability to run and work for 90 minutes and I felt he turned in a great performance for us.

“He’s in the Brazilian squad and a young player with a big future.”

Still only 21, he plays at times like a veteran. The manager has at times alternated him with Palacios, but after this performance, maybe he’ll be one of the first names on the team sheet.

  1. I will go so far as to say that if it weren’t for Sandro’s tireless running and countless interceptions and breaks forward, we would not have kept that clean sheet last night. It was as good a performance as any defensive midfielder could wish for. Unbelievable effort.

  2. sandro was incredible.hes got everything.whats going to happen to huddlestone?he offers less and will not want to be a bench warmer.rumours had it untd wanted him for 18mil.going forward hes very good.defence wise not so hot.of the 2 its no contest.sandro wins in every department.also sandro is only 21.give him 2 years and he will be worth 30 mil upwards.

  3. Could not believe my watery eyes last night. This guy was the stand alone performer, although the collective effort is not to be over looked, he was a f****** monster!!!!!!!!!
Could be our biggest assett, if he turns out 50% of that particular style of performance going forward with the club.

    Coyssss

  4. have to agree sandro was immense last night. the way sandro is playing cant see how the hudd, palacios, jenas, can get back in the team. a very nice problem to have over to you harry lol

  5. What more can you say about Sandro. This young man has brought something very different to the Spurs central midfield, strength, tenacity, courage, speed, vision, positional intelligence, anticipation you name it. He is a rock. I sincerely hope that we take care of this lad and dont over stretch him because if we protect him, he too can truly could become a legend for us. He will give our more creative players confidence to do their thing knowing that he is behind them and infront of our defence.
Oh dear lord, all we ask for this summer apart from prolonged glorious weather, is the purchase of a couple of hardened assassins to fire in the goals and who knows what this squad under Redknapp can achieve.

  6. Sandro just sitting behind Modders and Thud would work for me. He looks the perfect player and he likes to sit. Mind you I like to sit, pull up your face I need a seat. What I also noticed form last night was how mnay times Boateng went down without even been touched, at least 4 times. I though only I went down with such ease. Whaddya think boys? HHXX
