Just as the good news arrived of Tom Huddlestone’s impending return from injury, Spurs fans were dealt a cruel blow with news that William Gallas faces up to a month out after damaging a hamstring.

Gallas pulled up in training on Tuesday and was immediately sent for a scan, the details of which have yet to be announced.

“It’s not good. William just pulled up and now we have to wait and see whether there’s a tear,” said manager Harry Redknapp.

“William’s been in great form for us. If he’s out for a long time it’s a big blow for sure.”

So that is likely to mean Bassong coming straight back in to the team for Saturday. Other alternatives include switching Vedran Corluka to centre half and bringing back Alan Hutton, or possibly we may even see Ledley King or Younes Kaboul back in the starting line up before too long.

  1. Well, it isn’t a “cruel” blow…it is somewhat expected. The guy is almost 34, playing a couple of top level games a week. It was inevitable that he will get an injury at some point. Tricky, yes as we are down to our last 2 official CBs.

  2. Kaboul has got to be back soon not seen the guy since he dominated Newcastle at the lane, he had just scored a couple of goals and was looking like a boss, in my opinion our best centre back.
Bassong will do ok, he is low on confidence and error prone this year considering how great he was last year.
Gallas though is a massive blow espiecially for the big champions league games as Dawson is prone to a f**k up.

  3. Step Up to the plate… Mr. Ledley The King.

    Kaboul, Bassong, Woodgate back shortly..

Gallas has been great for us this year. Hopefully we should have enough in reserve to cover it.
