The transfer rumours keep coming in and occasionally, one or two appear that you just can’t ignore.

The Daily Mirror reports that Emmanuel Eboue is a target for Spurs this summer and could be set to join William Gallas in crossing the North London divide.

Certainly it could be logical that Spurs will look for a new right back in the summer. Alan Hutton seems finished at the club and rumours persist that Vedran Corluka will be on his way too. Kyle Walker has impressed at Aston Villa, but would Harry trust him as his first choice?

Eboue joined Arsenal in 2004 from Belgian side Beveren and has been in and out of the side ever since. At the age of 27 he has so far made 61 appearances for the Ivory Coast. Apparently his club fans have never ‘taken to him’ and it looks likely that he will be on his way at the end of the season.

So does the story have legs or is this just another idle rumour? Is Eboue good enough for our first team squad? We have welcomed William Gallas and he has fully rewarded us, but could this be an ex-Goon too far?

  1. Nonsense! Why pay for a rightback when we have Walker in the wings who has adapted to the Premiership brilliantly and is building up a nice bit of experience at Villa! Plus we need to spend money on other areas of the team much more urgently.

  2. Walker is our choice whether Harry likes him for the position or not. A futile exercise to go for Eboue- does not make sense. We must recall Bongani from PNE to groom him. Is this not the reason why he was purshased ?
