Everybody knows where Stoke are going to be dangerous tomorrow and Spurs’ defence will have many players to keep an eye out for. It’s not just Rory Delap’s long throws that cause problems and in Matthew Etherington and Jermaine Pennant, the Potters have two players capable in sending over deadly accurate set pieces.
It’s no surprise at all when you look at where Stoke’s goals have come from this season to see central defenders on the scoresheet on a regular basis and in fact, their second leading scorer is Robert Huth. The former Chelsea and Middlesbrough man is a fans’ favourite at the Britannia Stadium and his eight goals this season just underline where Stoke are at their most potent.
Forget about his defending for a moment, Huth is brave coming forward and is an awkward player who is a handful in the opponent’s box. He seems to have been around for a while now but is still only 26, so should be just coming into his prime.
Like any side who come up against Stoke, Tottenham will be looking to give away as few free kicks, corners and throw ins as possible, but when they come, Robert Huth will be the main man to watch out for.
