Two of Spurs’ key players are facing a ‘race against time’ to be fit for tomorrow’s return against Real Madrid. While William Gallas looks to be very doubtful, Aaron Lennon appears to have shaken off his illness concerns and will line up at White Hart Lane tomorrow night.

“Aaron wasn’t well again on Friday and not well enough to play against Stoke,” Harry Reknapp confirmed.

“He did some work on Friday with the fitness coach and then joined in with a little game but didn’t feel well enough. I think he will be fit enough to play on Wednesday.“

Given the circumstances surrounding Lennon’s withdrawal from the first game, and the controversy that followed, the player will be desperate to get onto the field and prove a point.
