Whereas you wouldn’t really expect anything else, Tottenham’s players are being incredibly upbeat about the team’s chances of overturning that 4-0 deficit against Real Madrid tomorrow night.
After Jermaine Jenas and Heurelho Gomes spoke yesterday and insisted that a miracle could happen, Gareth Bale has added his voice and promised that Tottenham will give it everything.
Bale said: “Anything is possible in football. This sport’s history is full of incredible, crazy games.
“Madrid lost 4-0 at Anfield not so long ago. Why can’t we do it ourselves?
“We are going to try and we’re not going to give up. It’s an almost impossible challenge, but we’re going to play and see what happens.
“Hopefully we can produce the miracle. We need to be optimistic. We’re going to go out to win from the start.”
Although some people are saying that a Champions League exit may be a ‘blessing in disguise’ for this Spurs team, it’s been a fantastic season in Europe and even if we can’t turn round the four goal margin, then everyone involved at White Hart Lane will be hoping that we go out on a high tonight.
It’s only our pace that will be able to outwit them. The other 3 options would be :
Our defenders ability to marking, pace, intercepting & passing accurately ( without passes going astray)
Our midfielders in assisting & complimenting the defence.
Our pacemen to lure the RM defence in committing a red card offence.
Thereafter its like taking candy from a baby!
