Harry Redknapp may be looking for a new centre forward but Spurs’ former striker Freddie Kanoute is one player who won’t be returning to White Hart Lane. Kanoute is leaving Sevilla at the end of the Spanish season and Spurs have been seemingly linked to him since the day he left North London.
As the rumours started again, the player put the record straight: “Sevilla and I have agreed that I will end my beautiful time here.
“The United States and Qatar offer an adventure I am interested in. I have had offers from England but I have already ruled them out.”
Meanwhile, Sevilla are reported to be lining up Roman Pavlyuchenko as Freddie’s replacement. While it seems that Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch are set to escape Redknapp’s axe, Pav has scored more than both of them yet is firmly marked for the exit.
Sevilla have reportedly already been in touch over a possible move but have stated that they are not prepared to pay more than £8m for the Russian’s services.
That’s one player we shouldn’t have sold … I thought he was class!
i can’t remember anyone being bothered when he left, same with Bent as i recall every body thought we had mugged Sunderland
Freddie Kanoute is one of many players we should’nt have sold if were honest about it. As for Sevilla’s supposed interest in Pavlyuchenko which i think is a complete load of hot air and nothing else, they would be very unwise to contemplate ever being interested in him because he would be a waste of their money to be fair.
a little harsh i think if the manager showed some beleif in the player he could do well. instead he plays him every so often just so he’s not completedly forgotten potential buyers
