The transfer rumour mill has gone into overdrive and there are some fascinating stories concerning suggested arrivals and departures at White Hart Lane today, but perhaps the main interest centres on two players who may leave the club in the summer.
When a short-list of players was drawn up as likely candidates for a move away last month, the names of Aaron Lennon and Rafael van der Vaart were nowhere to be seen. However as things have progressed, the stories surrounding these two are gathering more momentum.
Lennon’s much publicised withdrawal from the Real Madrid game has allegedly been followed by a series of ‘bust ups’ between player and manager. Liverpool were briefly linked with the player some weeks ago and it is rumoured that they will come back in with the possibility of offering Joe Cole as the ‘make-weight’. Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Lennon.
Elsewhere, VDV arrived in August and quickly became a fans favourite, but his presence always seems to cause a selection problem and he’s even been blamed for the lack of goals from our out-and-out strikers. It seemed only a matter of time therefore before the rumours started in earnest and now they’ve arrived. Most articles also cite ‘lack of mobility’ as one of Rafa’s problems but if he does leave, there should be a considerable queue for his services.
Lennon to Liverpool??Hell Yeah??and we also get rid of the overrated and overwaged Joe Cole??WOW!!Lennon’s rift with Redknapp has led to fans hating Lennon from what i’ve been reading lately.Lennon in the wing is fast as hell and Joe Cole is worse than Connor Wickham in terms of speed.if you also want some more players we have Konchesky,Jovanovic,Maxi Rodriguez,Kyrgiakos,Insua,Aurelio….and some more!!we Liverpool have to do an overhaul and if you Tottenham could help us,no prob then!!LENNON COME TO ANFIELD
just media bullshit,
i certainly dont and im pretty sure in sayin no spurs fans
would want rid of them 2…
dont think so steve, the majority of spurs fans love lennon. now youve got your new owners your about to find out what its like, trust me youll be linked with every half decent player and his dog for the next few years, n youll believe it all….
I wouldn’t want to lose Lennon but as good as VDv is, providing we got a class striker he can go if its causing a problem.
The biggest problem is that both vdv and modric are too good to not play every match.
