Our team to face Manchester City – What’s yours?

by Matthew Harris on May 10, 2011

Tonight’s line up against Manchester City could be one of the hardest of the season to predict with news that Spurs have fresh injury worries over Luka Modric, Jermaine Jenas and Peter Crouch. With Bale, BAE and Huddlestone still expected to miss the game, the pool from which to choose is getting smaller.

The back five should remain unchanged while in midfield, Kranjcar may have been the obvious replacement for Bale but with Redknapp so reluctant to play him, Pienaar may step in if fit. In midfield, if Luka does miss out and Jenas is not fit in whatever sense to replace him, then it could be Lennon, VDV, Sandro and Pienaar with Defoe and Pav up front.

If that looks unbalanced or if Harry is equally reluctant to play Lennon from the start, a youngster could even feature in the way that Danny Rose slotted in on Saturday. Other than that, options look a little thin on the ground.

I know that but this is what harry has done recently. Vdv offers nothing to our team.

Corluka is too tall to play as right back or left back. He is too shit to play as CB. Face it, we have no strikers.

Not necessarily true, Defoe has proved he can pull something out of the hat on a few occasions this season, the only problem is that he spends so much time during the game rooting around in that hat trying to find something that his contributions are almost useless when he finally chips in during the 88th minute or the like.
I blame Harry not a) playing him consistently enough even during his rough patches and b) not letting him start and only bringing him on late in the game when he has played. He’s not had the time to find his stride really.

Now Bale is crocked I’d like to see Pienaar start the remaining 3 games, think he’s a quality player who just needs a good run, was pretty much a dead cert on the Everton teamsheet during his time there.

He’s got a creative mind, great movement and links up well with Mod!

chill up guys.. at least we don’t have cup drought.. let’s take a positive look by looking at our neighbor arse..

the last time they won something was 2005.. we won a cup on 2008.. so in certain angle, we a better than them :)
