The official Spurs website is full of praise for Robbie Keane today but for many concerned, his two goals for the Republic of Ireland last night would have been important for putting him firmly in the shop window.

Earlier in the week, Harry Redknapp was quoted as saying that the door could still be open for Robbie at Spurs but the player himself has accepted it’s time to move on.

“I am not getting any younger but I will go back and see what happens,” said Keane before last night’s game.

“I am a Tottenham player and I am sure they will want to get a bit of money for me. Whether a Championship team would pay that, that’s another problem, but I want to play in the Premier League for the next couple of years.”

Robbie took his tally to an incredible 48 international goals last night and he is likely to go to a half century and beyond, but his double against Northern Ireland could be what secures the Premiership move he desires.
