Whereas it’s looking like the transfer of Robbie Keane is drawing ever closer, the question as to which of our strikers will join him remains unanswered. Yesterday, Les Ferdinand was widely reported as having intimated that Spurs didn’t need a new centre foward and that the men in place were more than capable of scoring the goals needed to put us back in Champions League contention.
Following on from Ferdinand’s comments and reacting to news of renewed interest from Sunderland, Harry Redknapp has said today that Peter Crouch at least, is unlikely to be moving anywhere.
When questioned on the subject, the manager said: “I doubt it. Crouchy is a good player. I like him. He is a great lad and I love him as a fella.
“He is not one I’m looking to shift. We are looking to bring a striker in but he is not one of those that we are looking to sell if we can help it.”
So the striking jigsaw is yet to be solved but it looks increasingly likely that Peter Crouch will still be at the Lane next season. The big question remains as to who will join him.
I really think that we should sell Pav and maybe we might have to get some cash out of JD. But we definetely need get to new strikers so maybe keep JD. Sell Pav and Keane for certain.

Pav’s the only one who knows where the back of the net is. Harry loves Crouch so that’s alright then, the fact he can’t head a ball in any direction ( He jumps up in the air and lets the ball cannon off his crust to God knows where), Gilzean he ain’t. He can’t hold a ball up, it usually bounces off him to where ever. His scoring ability is just above zero but it’ll be good cos Arry loves him. Another season of frustration coming up!!
very amusing. i spend most games when he is on the field lamenting the fact that everyone suddenly lumps it long and boring my friend with how he aint gillie.
he has not a clue where the ball will go when he heads it, and in the danger ares he does not head it as defenders have worked out how to move him out of the danger area; blow on him. he is crap, his goals this season show that and i am sick and tired of bloody redknapp going with players he likes and who suck up to him instead of those that are any good. pav has been by far and away the best this season for goals per minute and yet he cant get a game coz ‘arry cant have a laugh and a joke with him and pav either is above sucking up or does not have the english to do it. seriously, how can werespect someone who thinks crouch is important to the team?
To be honest (Im an honest yid) i think we should sell both of them because they are both shit. JD can find the net when he gets on a run. Harry did not give him a go this season and we payed the price. You saw last season that Defoe can score goals when he gets going. Last season he got 15 goals in 23 matches and he still had injuries.

Harry is at last looking at our season in the right way apart from the Parker and Cole rumours we don’t need many players to get back into the champs league. This is the reason why ,we had injuries to key players at the wrong times also whether you believe me or not Kolo Toure was not alone taking substances to make him defend for longer and was one of the reasons our strikers failed to find the net against teams on paper with weak defences. To finsih 5th with te ammont of changes we made was commendable yes we all felt we could have done better but our other mistake was loaning players and Youngsters to other clubs Pienaar was not fully fit Van struggled after January and this had a knock on affect and Defoe and Pav suffered from being benched even if they scored and this upset the dressing room. We also missed Huddlestone and King this was key to our run in and this has distorted our season that promised much more than we achieved. To panic now and bring in untried players could put us back instead of forward and we could sell players who could haunt us with goals and take valuable points of us and these clubs could be many if you belive the papers Fulham Wolves Man Utd these are just a few teams and a warning to our fans better the devil you no

Im sure crouch is a good guy when he’s not busy cheating on his girlfreind, but as a player he is awfull. I acually stopped watching the games he plays when we just lob the ball all 100m only for crouch to head it to nowhere.. He and harrys tactic is making fantastic players look like amatures at times.
Keep Pav who is the best striker by far and sell the rest,overvalued british strikers on hig wages. Defoe is decent but will never become world class and keane is well past his best. Please sell crouch!!

Malbranque seems to be quite a popular ex-yido up north. But yeah, you have had some dross off us in the past. If you’re not careful Bruce might comeback for jenas or keane. I’ll be honest with you, I don’t rate Bruce as a manager and he often seemed completely clueless when interviewed post match when you went through your mid-season crisis. I wouldn’t have been surprised to have picked up the paper and seen he’d blown his brains out. He just didn’t seem to have the fight in him that you needed at that time.
