You certainly can’t claim that Spurs aren’t keeping busy this summer and if reports are to be believed, we have had a further bid turned down for a young South American striker. This time, the subject of Harry’s interest was 20 year old Uruguayan forward Abel Hernandez who plays his football in Serie A for Palermo.

Although Spurs have gone in with an initial bid of £8.9m, the player’s agent believes we have to double that to secure his client’s services.

“If indeed it was €10m then it would be considered too low as the value of the player in the market is of €20m,” Vincenoz D’Ippolito told the Italian press.

Hernandez’ scoring record isn’t great in Serie A but he has found the net twice in three games for his country and his form has alerted other top clubs in Italy. If Palermo want twice the fee however, then Spurs may well walk away from this one. Perhaps the most significant question to come from this is whether it means we have ceased our negotiations for Leandro Damiao.

  1. Or we could just forget about this guy and give Inter what they want for Damaio, buy another sick striker, a defender, sell all our wasted players like Bentley and Pav and get in the Champions League.
