Since Martin Jol’s arrival at Fulham, the rumours have continued to grow relating to Tottenham targets and one story has emerged concerning a season long loan deal for David Bentley.

After failing to secure a move to Birmingham, the 27 year old will be keen to start playing some regular football again and the locality could well suit. Fulham fans seem to have met the story with a mixed reaction, but for many Cottagers’ supporters the deal seems to be a good one.

A season long loan however doesn’t quite fit with Daniel Levy’s streamlining promise and would just seem to delay the issue even further. While Fulham have been linked with permanent moves for Robbie Keane and Jermaine Jenas, they may only want to tie up Bentley for a year and while that could be an issue, it may end up being the only bid on the table.

  1. Could be a good way of increasing his value if he puts in some decent performances, anyone know how long he has left on his contract though, he have had him for 3 years and we could be in danger of losing hom for nothing if we dont sell now.

  2. Bentley is a player who maybe should be given another chance at Spurs. Ok we have Lennon on the right and VDV can drop there when we want to play 2 up top but VDV has not been the fittest player we have and Lennons form drops from time to time. If a decent offer comes in then accept and move him on but I feel he should be given an opportunity to prove he is the player we thought we signed. I certainly think Crouch can benefit from hios crosses if he learns to head a ball during the close season.

  3. he poured water on harry, he is going. harry bears a grudge and anyway, bentley is slower than even van der vaart, and always has to try with the flicks, he still believes his own publicity. sell and get what we can and cut the losses

  4. watch this space with Martin Jol, he knows how to bring the best out of players, and use them in their right positions.

  5. If we loan him out then he might play more matches consistently and his standard will increase and his transfer fee will rise…..

    Worth a try?

  6. I 2nd that Cyril, Harry doesn’t like the ‘pretty boy’ and his negative attention to the team, just ask Robbie how that worked out for him. When he went to Brum he couldn’t get a place there with all his fancy flicks, tricks and oops sry boss i lost the ball. Sell him and let Jol work his magic
