Two of Spurs current centre halves are in the news today as they face an uncertain future during the summer break.
Sebastien Bassong’s move away from the club may have moved a step closer with reports that Wolves may come in for the player after being priced out of the market for Birmingham’s Roger Johnson.

Bassong is another Spurs player to have been linked with a move to QPR recently but with Wolves actively in the market for a centre half, they may beat the Loftus Road outfit to the Cameroon international’s signature.

Meanwhile, the future of Jonathan Woodgate could be resolved soon with reports that he has until the end of the month to prove his fitness.

Woody was restricted to one substitute appearance against AC Milan last term and it’s thought that he may be fighting for a pay as you play deal at best.

  1. If we sell Bassong, we could get around 4 million out of him. And if we sell Woody then thats another players wages not to pay. Result! As for buying Roger Johnson, I think he is a worthy and suitable replacement for Bassong who just simply is not good enough.

    • We need Scot Dann instead- hes a left footed centre back unlike Johnson! This is why Dawson and Bassong played so well together as Dawson was on the right hand side of defence whilst Bassong on the left.

  2. Cutting the wage bill and reducing the squad size does seem to be the main goal for us atm and if we can get anything back from the 8mil we paid for him then bonus. We need proven quality defenders (Like Gallas, bargain) to bring us that stability over the course of the year not just the ‘big’ games. As for Woody, thanks for that cup goal, now’s the time to switch to a pay as you play contract for the off chance he does get some form. I’d rather have an fit and inform Woody in our Def line than someone else’s like Wolves
