Out of all of Tottenham’s supposed transfer targets, we can now probably remove Lassana Diarra from our lines of enquiry as the midfielder, via his agent, has publicly come out and pledged his future to Real Madrid.

Speaking to the press, John Williams said: “He has two years left on his contract and is feeling well in Madrid.”

“Contrary to what is being said, Lass does not want to leave Real Madrid.

“I have not opened negotiations with any club in either England or Italy, but if there is a great offer then we’ll study it.”

Spurs were widely tipped to have pursued Scott Parker by now, but with Sam Allardyce saying that there had been no bids for the England international, are Spurs really looking elsewhere for a holding midfielder, or is this one area where we won’t be reinforcing?
