While we’ve become accustomed to see Martin Jol linked with a whole host of Spurs players, we haven’t yet seen Jermain Defoe being touted as a likely candidate for a trip to Craven Cottage.
There are reports today suggesting that a ‘double swoop’ is on the cards and while Jermaine Jenas is one of the names in the frame, the report claims that Defoe is BMJ’s other target.
Defoe arguably played his best years in the early stages of Jol’s time at Spurs so the new Fulham manager is certain to remain an admirer. Furthermore, Clint Dempsey is expected to leave Craven Cottage, so JD could be a more than adequate replacement.
It would surprise nobody to see any number of Spurs players leave and go on to form what could almost be an ex-Spurs XI at Fulham, but while the Jermain Defoe link could be a case of adding two and two and coming up with something other than four, it could lead to something more concrete.
