There have been a few rumours linking Robbie Keane with several clubs this summer and Bolton, Blackburn and Fulham are among those who have been thought to be considering a move for the Republic of Ireland striker.
While there are few if any, bids on the table, manager Harry Redknapp has stated that the 30 year old could still have a future at the club.

“I’ve said many times that Robbie’s a great professional, a great character and a great lad,” Harry told Sky.

“He’s still a good player so let’s see what happens.

“If he doesn’t go he’ll be here and start on level terms with the rest of the players so it’s up to him then to get in the team.

“If somebody wants to buy him and he feels he wants to move on then it’s great for everybody but we’ll wait and see.”

Some fans may be forgiven for thinking that the front four at White Hart Lane is going to be exactly the same this year.

  1. he had enuff chances since comeing back from liverpool and done shit eac time, only time he showed abit of class was at celtic, came back done shit, let him go for free if we have to!

  2. You can take Harry’s words on Keane with a large pinch of salt.

It was a sales pitch, trying to entice somebody into thinking Keane has something to offer (which,at the right level he does) but it’s got to be a million to one that he’s a Spurs player come Sept 1st.

  3. You guys are overly confident that a) Someone is willing to meet our asking price and b) that “someone” is willing to pay their maximum wage to someone who is clearly past their best and c) Keane himself is willing to take the necessary cut in wages. Point b) is inversely proportional to point c) – meaning that teams lower down are more likely to want Keane, but less able to come near his wage demands. It is a conundrum – I was chuffed when we got 20m for him, then did not want him back, and for the last season and a half you can see that he is a broken man. Keane is the real reason why we haven’t signed a striker since he re-joined.
