As we predicted last week, the fact that Giuseppe Rossi will remain at Villarreal has seen Juventus switch their attention to Mirko Vucinic who has now joined the Turin giants from fellow Serie A side Roma.

While the list of prospective targets starts to dwindle, could Spurs look to Italy again and make a move for Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino?

Gilardino has just turned 29 and has so far played in Italy for his entire career. He joined Fiorentina in 2008 from Milan and his goals to game ratio is pretty good, finding the net 56 times in 130 appearances for his current side.

He has scored 17 times in 47 games for his country and appeared during their successful 2006 World Cup campaign. It’s thought that Fiorentina could be willing to let him go for £15m and with no reported competition, could Alberto Gilardino be the missing piece of the striking jigsaw that Spurs so desperately need?

  1. So, you say in your headlines “Spurs turn their attention to Gilardino” but actually your blog just states “Spurs could look to Italy again and make a move..”

    What a joke you are…

  2. I don’t want any player from the Italian league. The difference in pace is too great! Gyan or Lukaka please and thank you

  3. “While the list of prospective targets starts to dwindle, could Spurs look to Italy again and make a move for Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino?”

If I knew the answer to that I wouldn’t be reading your blog. I expect information, not questions.

  4. The striker solution at Spurs is simple:-
GET LEANDRO FROM INTERNACIONALE,BRAZIL. THIS LAD LIKE SANDRO IS WORTH EVERY CENT AND HE IS YOUNG.
HARRY,WAKE UP AND MAKE A SWIFT MOVE BECAUSE YOU ARE LOOKING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION.

  5. No, Joey Barton is our best hope of signing anyone this season as he meets Levy’s spending valuation which is zero…. COYS sign a quality striker!

  6. Barton and zamora will probably end up being our signings..why?! Because Harry bloody Redknapp is in charge and he only signs players from the premier league. Absolute joke. The sooner we get this wheeler dealer out of the club the better. It might have been good for portsmouth or west ham but spurs have reached the border of top 4 and NEED to push on over it. Redknapp however still acts as if he is managing a team that is fighting to stay up, trying to sign average players out of favour at there clubs, who have prem experience but are either over the hill or simply not good enough. Wake up you bellend, and why we are at it stop making stupid bloody adverts, spurting your mouth off to the press which shows lack of ambition, ruining spurs greatest chance to push on in decades and calling the fans idiots because the only muppet at spurs is himself! Getting extremely annoyed with the way things are going at spurs lately! No wonder Modric wants out with this tosser in charge!!
