As we wait patiently or otherwise for any concrete news regarding new arrivals at the Lane ahead of the 2011-12 season, the focus for the club’s website is on our existing squad.

Many supporters are expecting this to be a breakthrough season for Kyle Walker and the player is looking to become a regular both for Spurs and for England.

“It is massively important for me to be playing week in and week out.

“I’ve had a taste of it at Villa, and I think I’ve proved I can play Premier League football and hopefully the gaffer puts some trust in me.”

Manager Harry Redknapp likened Walker to Roberto Carlos going forward, but while there are question marks over his defending, the player insists that attack isn’t his first thought.

“My main objective is to defend. Going forward is just a bonus of my game.

“I like to go forward, I like to attack, and wingers don’t want to track you back these days.”

Walker would have more than likely made his England debut this week and many Spurs fans feel that he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet for his club this weekend.

  1. Start him at RB, no doubt about it.

The questions come at CB. Has anyone heard when King is expected to be given the green light? If (a big if) he can give us 20 games partnering with Dawson, I don’t feel bad about not bringing in a CB from outside the club.

  2. we dont want to rush walker, i would rotate the RB role with Corluka and also use Corluka and Kaboul at CB this year. king will be out for at least a month

  3. I would like to see Walker as the regular right back this year.

I think his performaces for Villa last year merits him a chance.

He is young and will make mistakes but has the potential of being the best right back in europe.
