Luka ‘a possible’ to face Hearts

by Matthew Harris on August 25, 2011

There will be much speculation ahead of the naming of the line up against Hearts tonight but it seems increasingly likely that Luka Modric will make his first appearance of the season.

While Niko Kranjcar has admirably filled his compatriot’s usual position in the side, if Luka stays then he needs to play and that is a feeling echoed by Harry Redknapp,

“The situation is that he is not for sale,” Redknapp said in the Evening Standard.

“Yesterday when I spoke to the chairman he said Luka definitely wasn’t going and that was the end of the matter as far as he was concerned.

“Luka has to get on and play now. I need him back playing.

“Will he play tomorrow? Possibly. We will see how his hamstring is on Thursday. Certainly I’m looking to have him fit for the weekend against Man City.”

The Modric situation has most Spurs supporters praying for the end of the transfer window but in the meantime, will our player of last season finally make his first appearance of the season tonight?

Forget Modric, he’s staying, at least for this season, forget Diarra ball’s in his court.
Damiao, Damiao, Damiao, two more goals for Independiente, what more can I say except
buy him before he’s out of our price range.

Do we have a 1st option of the Brazilian due to our partnership with International? def need to snap him up soon.

re modders, get him pulling the strings again in midfield, was evident against Utd that we desperately need him

I sometimes wonder if the hierachy at spurs read these comments, as there are some good ones that need to be noted.

Why on earth would anyone at Spurs read this? They’d never sleep again if they read all the stuff that gets said online…

Loving the idea of Modric playing tonight – it makes sense for so many reasons: -

1. Match sharpness for Sunday v Citeh
2. Cup-ties him for Chelski’s CL group
3. Gives the fans to give him an almighty cheer (hopefully)
4. Great opportunity to give him the captain’s armband for the night
5. Great opportunity for the kids to play alongside a world class player (particularly Carroll and Kane)
6. He’s just great to watch

play him just to shut the papers up, they have created many of the issues surrounding our players this season.
