The transfer rumours over a new Spurs striker continue to hot up and as Leandro Damiao’s stock continues to rise, so does his alleged transfer fee. With figures of around £15m quoted back in the summer, some stories have emerged suggesting that Internacional will be looking for a figure nearer to £40m when the Brazilian season comes to an end.

That means that Spurs could be looking elsewhere and one story that has emerged this morning concerns Guinea Bissau striker Éderzito António Macedo Lopes, who is better known as Eder to the relief of commentators in Portugal where he currently plays for Academica de Coimbra.

According to the reports, Eder is out of contract at the end of the season and Spurs could be looking to snap him up for a bargain in January. Exactly how much would be considered a bargain is open to conjecture when you consider that the striker has found the net just seven times in 67 league matches since 2008.

Eder will require a work permit and given his scoring record, maybe the advice is not to bother applying for one just yet.

  1. He looks the bollox – hope we get him in, even if we have to pay over the odds he’s the perfect age with re-sale value and you wouldn’t expect him to expect an extravagant salary.
Desperately need cover for Adebayor as Pav simply isn’t up to the task.
    COYS!

  2. Never heard of him. I read the other comments singing his praise but if his record is really only 7 goals in 67 games why are we even looking at him? For a striker thats pretty pathetic. Even Pav could probably manage that many.
