While Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has used the Europa League to blood many of the younger players at the club, there is another benefit to the competition as he will discover tomorrow night.

It has been difficult for Harry to find any positives from European qualification but tomorrow’s game against Shamrock Rovers gives the boss a possible opportunity to give run outs to Aaron Lennon, Steven Pienaar and Danny Rose.

Lennon looks certain to feature while Pienaar and Rose are more doubtful, as the manager explained.

“We have some lads coming back who need games like Aaron, Danny Rose has been out and he’s fit and available, I’m also hoping Steven Pienaar will be fit to play a part,” said Harry.

“We’ve a stronger, more experienced team tomorrow and a chance to play some of the lads who didn’t play at the weekend.”

There was more good news for Pienaar as he was included in South Africa’s squad for their upcoming match against Sierra Leone but whether Redknapp will be happy with his inclusion is another matter.

While the exact team news won’t be announced until nearer to kick off, it looks very much like a stronger line up tomorrow in the hope of securing our first win in these group stages.

  1. So Harry didn’t know the Europa League would mean we could play players coming back from injury in it, wow amazing, how much is he being paid!

    • Not a dig at you mate but why use pav? He doesnt deserve a place in the team the man is utter garbage and tbh i hate him. Kane would be my choice, at least the lad trys. PAVLYUCHENKO OUT.

      • let him play the first half, if he’s lazy and not doing work take him off and slide Kane up top.. he’s a good sub to have, he’s scored some pretty important goals for us, just been in some bad form of late and needs some confidence.. at least until January.
