While Emmanuel Adebayor remains a major doubt for Spurs ahead of this weekend’s match at Newcastle, there was more bad news today with reports that Vedran Corluka and Niko Kranjcar both picked up knocks while on duty for Croatia in the week.

Both are doubtful for this Sunday’s game and while they weren’t necessarily expected to play from the start, the Spurs bench is starting to look a bit thin.

With Michael Dawson, William Gallas and Tom Huddlestone missing and Sandro another doubt, this is the last thing that Harry Redknapp wanted to hear before making his squad selection for Sunday’s match.

  1. It is worrying to have so many players injured at one time, but I wouldn’t want to sign a bunch of mid-level players anticipating a dozen injuries — this seems like the perfect time to introduce a couple of the younger players. A team of them might get chewed up but 1 or 2 playing alongside the first team would just be great experience. We’re also talking about subs, not the starting lineup (yet).
Livermore, Carrol, Kane, Falque — throw ’em in.
