Links with new strikers continue and while Seydou Doumbia added a few million to his transfer fee with a double strike for CSKA Moscow in the Champions League this week, Tottenham may need to look elsewhere for cheaper option.
The Daily Mail seems to have broken the story that suggests Harry Redknapp will make a move for Valencia’s Roberto Soldado in January as he looks to bolster his strike force.
The Spaniard is now 26 years of age and after a quiet start with Real Madrid, his career came to life at Osasuna where he scored 29 goals in 60 league games. That average of around a goal every other game has continued at Valencia and after falling under the radar for some time, he is now one of the hottest properties in Europe.
No fee is mentioned in the story but it is sure to be around the £20m mark and while Valencia are reluctant to let go, Bayern Munich are also believed to be interested. It’s a nice story, but given those facts, maybe it’s another non-starter.
Not good enough for us, 20mil is a joke.
Every time I’v seen him against English opposition he’s been hopeless he’s one of those strikers who’s only good when balls played in front of him they can keep him
Yet another red herring from the daily fail. Anything from that rag has to be taken with an extreme pinch of salt full stop.
Would suggest he is not tried and tested in the premiership and at 26 we would only consider someone who is at that price. Leandro all day long for me.
Daily Mail same old crap
