Two of Tottenham’s current strike force were in the news this weekend as the January transfer window rapidly approaches. While more stories surfaced concerning the possibility of a permanent move for Emmanuel Adebayor, the manager himself came out and stated his view on a possible departure for Roman Pavlyuchenko.
With regards to Adebayor, Harry said,
“I would like him here full-time. It would be difficult but we like him.
“He’s done great for us. He gives us loads of movement when he plays and he’s a real handful.”
As for Pavlyuchenko, the manager will be seeking a replacement before any deal is sanctioned,
“If we let Pav go we’d leave ourselves short. If he decides he wants to go and the club get a good offer then we’ve got to be ready to replace him from somewhere,” said Redknapp
Anyone coming into the side in January is likely to have to wait their turn behind Ade, VDV and Defoe and that could delay any possible arrival. As unlikely as a permanent transfer for Adebayor may seem, it could transpire that there will be no new centre forward at the Lane until his future is decided.

We still need a striker.
If an offer for Pav came in I’d take it even if it meant promoting Kane.
Bassong, Piennaar, Jenas, and Gomez need to be moved along as well, but that’s not a new idea.
We’re hardly in a worse place if we promote younger players (temporarily) but we should make sure that when we do sign new players they’re a step up and not like-for-like with the baggage we’re already trying to unload.
