The ‘Redknapp for England’ shouts have quietened down a little in recent weeks and undoubtedly the manager’s impending court case and his minor heart surgery have had their parts to play in that. In addition, there have been suggestions that Fabio Capello could even stay on at Lancaster Gate after next summer.
As Euro 2012 approaches however, the stories will rise once again but Harry has been quick to confirm that his only thoughts are on Spurs,
“I just have to get on with my job. That’s all I can do,” he said. “I don’t know what will happen at the end of the season, if anything does.
“I don’t look that far ahead really. I am not a person who thinks about next year or the year after, if you do that you start wishing your life away.
“I am only looking at what I am doing now. I have to keep focused on Tottenham. The only thing that enters my mind is getting them back in the Champions League.”
Harry remains the bookies’ favourite for the England job but for now, fourth place or higher is all that matters.

Harry talking sense here…. with less than 10 mins to kick-off in Dublin, my thoughts are on O’Neil’s Sunderland coming to The Lane Sunday, and how crucial it is for us to get back to winning and convincingly…. Brad in goal and Scottie winning the ball in midfield have really filled in two areas where we were weak last season … Ade too with his strength & movement has given us staying power up front… my only concern is that we have recently tended to give up too easily on what was and still is our most lethal attack weapon : Bale & Lennon getting chalk on their boots tearing down the flanks and getting in behind those defenders.. i would have expected to see some Ade goals off
such crosses but i see Bale coming inside too much and Ade running deep too much… good for Bale-Azza to switch sides occasionally but doing it too often we miss out on the flanks unless Kyle gets in a run or two…. when Bale gets thru on the left we are at our most dangerous… wish he takes more of a pot at goal with that lethal left foot same he did vs Inter so prolifically (which is what in fact shot him to superstardom )..
