With no official word from the club it seems that reports of a permanent deal for AZ 67’s Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm are a little quick off the mark.
If the claims are to be believed, Spurs have struck a deal worth around £7m for the player, but he won’t be joining up with the squad until the end of the season.
If the reports are true then it looks as if the club have picked up a decent prospect. Elm is only 23 but has already won 21 full international caps and has been described by Swedish coach Lars Lagerbeck as the best player to come out of the country since Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
After struggling with injury and illness in his first two years in Holland, Elm has shown his best form this season and with Manchester United believed to be hovering, Swedish newspaper Expressen claims that the Spurs move has been agreed.
That remains to be confirmed by either club but if it’s true, it will be interesting to see where Rasmus Elm would fit into the current line up.

Well that doesn’t say much considering Ibrahimovic is nothing but an overrated arrogant donkey!!!!
Yeah I mean Ibrahimovic has only scored countless goals for his country, won the League with every club he has played for and has played for practically every top team around (!)
And yet never scored a goal against an English side!
An official announcement can not be made as the transfer window has not opened and he can’t actually sign anything until it does.
…erm he scored twice against arse for Barcelona
I think he will be a good useful addition to the Tottenham side, however what may be a really good deal could turn out to be a problem. If he is this type of playmaker, who is he going to replace? I’m sure if he is this up and coming player then the subs bench may not surface! So which of the Tottenham Midfielders are going to be sold. Maybe he is the replacement of Luka Modric or Nikolai Kranjar? Or possibly Spurs are going to rid themselves of some of their
potential future stars, the likes of Tom Carroll, John Bostock and Dean Perrett? What this does do is leave the likes of Tom Huddlestone and Sandro wondering if they have a future at all. I would be sad to see Huddlestone and the very impressive Sandro leave. Sandro I saw as the long term replacement of Scott Parker. Spurs look like they may eventually cash in on Luka Modric… One thing for sure, if Spurs keep all the players they have, then Harry Redknapp will have an headache, a good headache though.
