Hamstring curse could see an early entry into the transfer market

by Matthew Harris on December 23, 2011

Several senior Spurs players are currently struggling with hamstring injuries and that could lead to an early move in the transfer market when the window opens next month.

Ledley King, Younes Kaboul, Aaron Lennon, Rafael van der Vaart and Jermain Defoe all have similar problems and after enjoying a settled side for so long, Harry now has a major selection headache ahead of the festive period.

However, one possible target, Gary Cahill is currently in talks with Chelsea according to his current manager Owen Coyle,

“Regarding Gary Cahill, there has been dialogue between ourselves and Chelsea,” Coyle confirmed.

Other options are still open to Harry including the Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen while the current crisis could also see Michael Dawson pressed into action shortly,

“Everything is going fine and I am back in training and looking to return in January,” Dawson said after his prolonged Achilles tendon problem. “But I do not want to set a date.”

Suddenly, options are very thin in some key areas and while Harry may have preferred a quiet transfer window, the current injury situation may dictate otherwise.

Kaboul got injured during the warmup you dickwad. And its “you blew it” not “you blue it”. Blue is a colour not the past tense of “blow”…

Eden Hazard is the man.

Hazard would be a great addition to the team but not a real RM/RW.
Goetze be ideal though.
Also, Arnautovic (22, 6′-4″) would be nice. He’d be cheaper (than Goetze), is a natural RW and with his height could be an alternate target forward.
