Are there any other contenders for this accolade besides the amazing Gareth Bale? After the Welshman’s two goals inspired Tottenham’s win, manager Harry Redknapp was typically effusive in his praise.
“I played him in a free role,” Harry said. Him and Rafa, rather than on the left. He pops up in positions in-between the midfield and defence, it’s difficult to pick him up and once he turns and runs, like he did for the second goal, he’s unstoppable.
“There’s not a weakness in his game, to be honest, and most important of all, he’s a smashing lad.”
Over on Sky, summariser Ray Wilkins gave the champagne to Gareth but he did mention others at the same time. VDV and Modric were singled out for praise which was a little harsh on Sandro who enjoyed another impressive outing.
At the back, Harry offered additional praise to the centre half pairing while Wilkins described Kyle Walker as the best right back in England.
Overall then, do you agree that Gareth Bale was last night’s man of the match or is there a more deserving contender?

Brilliant team performance, wouldn’t say anyone played badly. Other than Bale, Sandro stood out most to me.
