Pav in demand but not at Spurs

by Matthew Harris on December 29, 2011

The most vocal of football agents Oleg Artemov has been touting his client Roman Pavlyuchenko around this week with Anzi the latest Russian club to be linked with the striker.

“At the beginning, Roman absolutely ignored Anzhi,” Artemov told the Russian press.

“He wasn’t against going back to Russia, but not to the Makhachkala-based team, but Pavlyuchenko is tired of the uncertainty and the lack of match action.

“He has a concrete offer from Anzhi in his hand. This offer is very good and profitable.

“Roman will accept it unless he gets a better offer,” he added.

Pav underlined his worth to the side with the winner against Sunderland this month and at the moment, Harry is relying heavily on Adebayor plus the injury prone VDV. With Manchester City coming up, we have at least one game where Ade will be unavailable and any departure will surely lead to a striker signing next month.

very few fans left, dont think so, will always be respected given the lack of play time, including the times he saved our bacon.

I dont think that Pav has hardly any fans left. When he was given a run last year he was pathetic, he is very ordinary and i say good riddance, take the russian money and lets splash out. Tevez is available so get the cunt in. Damiao would be most welcomeas would Eden Hazard. Come on Levy buy buy buy, then we shall reap the rewards.

Are you mad? We would have failed to even qualify for CL last season had it not been for Pav in the second half at Young Boys. That and the most recent point preservation Roman did for us at the lane. That being said, he has missed some very open nets over the seasons. But I get sick of this short-minded disrespect that is shown. How many top football clubs have you played for? How many clubs seek your signature? For fuck sake…are we arsenal supporters or do we rise to the class that is Spurs and show this man some gratitude and well-wishing

Pav is nowhere near the quality we need. Most of his shots are miles over or wide and one is bound to go in now and again. Added to his appauling shooting he has no pace, no touch or skills and is lazy. A very average striker.

I think that’s fairly said.
A smaller team would be lucky to have him, but he’s no help to Spurs at this point, and taking up a place that should go to someone younger and better.

He isn’t crap is he? He’s had his moments but doesn’t stand a chance against our current options, and potential suitors.
He’s a poacher, and poachers need regular appearances to get their tally up.
Tevez? That just aint gonna happen, lol! If this was the end of the season and we had CL football coming to the lane, then it’d be a possibility.
With Harry Kane going out on loan, the seemingly inevitable departure of Pav, coupled with the eminent African cup, it would make sense to bring some-one in. No idea who though.

Neither Manchester club is interested. He just ain’t good enough for a team with Spurs’ ambitions.

unfortunately for pav, he’s good but just not good enough. a great finisher of the ball, but not a lot of pace and not a great first touch. wish him all the best for the future for what he has contributed to the cause. damiao please…
