Spurs duly won their game in hand last night with goals from Aaron Lennon and a stunning 30 yard strike from Benoit Assou-Ekotto that completed a 2-0 win and saw the club go level on 45 points with Manchester United.
After the match, Harry Redknapp hailed a great win and emphasised that he finds it a joy just to watch Tottenham at the moment.
“It was a great win. You never get an easy game against Everton,” Harry said.
“David had a very attacking-looking team and they went for it. They started the game well, but we got on top and played very well in the end.
“The passing, the crispness of the passing and the movement off the ball was fantastic. I enjoy watching it and I’m sure the spectators must enjoy watching us play.”
Harry went on to state that the first goal was so important in the context of the match and hinted that there was only really one winner after Aaron Lennon broke the deadlock.
“The first goal was all-important because Everton are always difficult to beat and dangerous on the break as well,” he continued.
“They have good players so we needed that goal and once we scored, we dominated the game”
Next up for Spurs is a home match with Wolves on Saturday and some Spurs fans may even be scanning the fixture list to check on Manchester United’s next opponents – they’re home to Bolton if you’re interested.
