The transfer rumours involving Spurs are very slowly starting to spark into life with stories that Roman Pavlyuchenko could be the first and possibly only departure from White Hart Lane this summer.
Yesterday, Pav’s vocal agent Oleg Artemov claimed that Spurs had extended the Russian’s contract until June 2013.
“Tottenham, headed by Mr Levy had the option of extending his contract, and they have done so,” Artemov told Russian website championat.ru.
“They informed UEFA, FIFA and the English FA that they have extended the contract by a year. This happened about two or three months ago, so this is already quite old news.”
While Artemov was oddly quiet about a possible January move, Pav’s name was one of many that was being touted around Europe, according to PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti,
Stories also suggest that Pav may have been offered to Newcastle and Sunderland and while the Magpies have added to their front line with Papiss Demba Cisse, the Black Cats are set to lose alleged striker Nicklas Bendtner with a broken nose and facial injuries and could yet end the Russian’s White Hart Lane career.
