In amongst all the transfer rumour chaos there’s a Premier League game to be played tonight and according to Spurs’ assistant Joe Jordan, there are a few injury worries ahead of the game with Wigan.

Jordan revealed new doubts over Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon, both of whom have picked up fresh hamstring injuries in the last few days.

“We’ll have to see how they settle down,” Joe said.

“They will not train with the squad, they’ll train inside and do some physiotherapy, that’s it.

“We’ll then see how they are tomorrow.

“Gareth will train this morning and Ledley King will be available if he comes through training.”

If all four of those names were fit then the side is likely to pick itself, particularly as Joe went on to say that Brazilian Sandro isn’t quite match fit.

With those doubts in mind however, this is how we feel the starting XI will look but what do you think?

  1. If Livermore were to play, play him centeral with Parker and play Modric out wide. Also if Defoe is fit play him ahead of Adebayor.

    • Frank, that’s something I’ve always mooted whenever Lennon’s injured or off-form. If Harry could turn Bale into one of the best left-sided midfielders I don’t see why he can’t do the same with Walker on the other side.

  2. I wouldn’t risk king and I think it is time to start pienaar or krank on the right, why play a central mid on the right when we have wide midfielders.

    • I agree 100% we’ve been offensively weak when we’ve played with 3 CM’s let’s play Krancjar or Pienaar and those two also have prove themselves in the middle of the pitch too and they add more attacking options.

  3. Yes- there is no point in playing Livermore out wide- he is a perfect partner to Parker in the middle. ‘Arry has been playing Bale on the right, and Luka is more comfortable on the left so starting line up to look like this:
    (R-L)
    Freidel
    Walker Kaboul King BAE
    Bale Livermore Parker Modders
    vdV
    Ade
    COYS!!!

    • The only time Modders was effective playing wide on the left was when he first came to us. That was before Bale was converted into a winger and to accommodate Jenas and Hudd in the middle. Once Luka was given time in a central position he made it his own and never again looked as effective in wide positions. We should play our most influential players in their strongest positions, never otherwise. Luka in the middle, VdV in the hole.

  4. Livermore is great, but he’s backup DM not on the wing. I’ve never been impressed with Piennaar (should be sold at whatever price) but Niko is class. I’d play him as a RM — he’ll come inside and help with the attack but Walker can hold the width — they’d be a good pair.

    Friedel
    Walker King Kaboul BAE
    Kranjcar Modric Parker Bale
    VDV
    ADE

Or, we seem to not use Niko unless absolutely necessary (why?), I’d move Walker to RM and Corluka at RB.
