Whatever your view of Spurs’ deadline day transfer dealings, don’t expect Kevin Bond to be reading any comments after the late captures of Louis Saha and Ryan Nelsen.
Bond did however attempt to ease any disquiet by suggesting that we should all trust Harry and the players he has brought in.
“I don’t look at message boards and those who are on there are entitled to their opinion. But with the greatest respect I would be trusting Harry’s judgement.
“We think it is good business for us. I think we’re a stronger squad now. The January window has freshened it up.”
Bond then likened the players to a previous Tottenham hero along with a striker who is not held in such high regard at White Hart Lane.
“People thought Teddy Sheringham was miles past his best but he did really well and Paul Merson did unbelievably for Harry,” Bond added. “Hopefully he will do it with a couple more now.”
Saha may be no Sheringham – perhaps not even a Merson but he could well get his first chance to impress Spurs fans on Monday night.
