It’s been a miserable couple of seasons for Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone and while the club has announced further progress in his latest comeback from injury, Tom now looks set to miss the rest of the campaign.
The announcement on the official website reads,
‘Tom Huddlestone will undergo a second stage of surgery on Friday to further his recovery following ankle surgery at the end of last year.
The midfielder has progressed well since his initial surgery, with the specialist determining that the anticipated reconstruction of a lateral ankle ligament is the next step towards the England international making a return to full fitness.’
After missing much of last season, Huddlestone returned at the end of the campaign and his contribution to securing Europa League football will be remembered for a trademark goal against Arsenal.
This season however, Tom has featured in just two games and with Scott Parker and Sandro now blocking his way into the first team too, it may be some time before we see him in a Lilywhite shirt once again.

The squad has changed since he was playing consistently; Sandro, Parker, and Livermore all dividing time where I assume he’d be in queue. I could see him moving ahead of Livermore, unless Livermore continues to progress rapidly, but he’ll have trouble dislodging the first two.

If you only new how vital big Tom would be in our closing games you would be has upset at this news has iam . What Tom hads that he oher dont have is two things a great free kick and and a thunder shot also at 6ft3 he helps in the box at defensive corners. When we play what i call energised teams like the Liverpool game and we struggle too get out of defence he can launch a pass with pace and backspin right over a packed midfield and send Bale Lennon Ady Defoe or Saha hurtling on gaol without the extra midfielders in defence. We will face this types of teams away from home Sunderland Everton OPR Arsenal and even the desperate Bolton. All these teams will have this extra work rate when we come calling. This would be where big Hudds could have been our secret weapon to save ten passes to get over the half way. Lets hope Hudds comes back stronger and we do him proud and finishe 3rd or higher.
