Without the benefit of a midweek match to deflect the attention away from off pitch matters there was plenty of rumour regarding managerial changes and new arrivals at Spurs. Separating the truth from the gossip is generally an impossible task but what do we actually know?
Brazilian under 20 defender Bruno Uvini has now signed up for a two month trial at the club with a view to a permanent transfer – he looks a good prospect but can he make it at the Lane?
The latest news on the stadium front saws a new set of plans approved by Haringey council and that may have sparked a story about a takeover bid by AEG.
On the transfer front, Eden Hazard’s changes of mind have been frustrating to keep up with. First he wanted a move to Spurs, then it was Arsenal because his mate plays there. Although he might fancy giving it a go in La Liga – no it’s definitely going to be the Premier League.
£35m plus wages might just put paid to that deal – unless of course AEG funds it.
But it was impossible to get away from Harry and the England manager’s job. His latest comments actually suggested that he might give it a go at Euro 2012 before coming back in time for the new season.
“Part-time? In the short term I think it’s possible for the European Championships. But I think in the long-term it’s not possible to manage a club team and manage a national team,” Harry said.
Is a takeover likely? Will Harry jump ship temporarily and come back to manager a side that includes Eden Hazard in its ranks. What do you make of Bruno Uvini?
Footballs back this weekend but in the meantime, what do you make of the midweek gossip?
It’s becoming a pain in the backside, is Harry going or isn’t he, he can’t do both jobs part-time, even if it’s to the end of the season. Harry has been one of the best managers we’ve had at the Lane, but if he is staying…..GREAT, but if he has decided his heart is with the England job……he should GO, he can’t have it both ways.
