When Kyle Walker returned to Spurs at the end of his loan spell with Aston Villa, he came back with a reputation as a marauding full back with a keen eye for goal but maybe with some question marks over his defending.

As we reach the last third of the season, Kyle is unchallenged as our first choice right back and while he won’t be happy that BAE is currently outscoring him this year, Walker’s lone strike undoubtedly mattered most in securing a 2-1 win over Arsenal earlier in the campaign.

Naturally Kyle has been in the spotlight this week as the return fixture looms but for now he is just looking forward to the game.

“The lads are buzzing,” he said. “It’s the North London derby, we’re well up for it and you can see that in training day in, day out. We’re putting the work in and hopefully it will pay off on Sunday.”

Naturally however, talk of that goal is never very far away.

“That goal comes up in every interview I do!” Kyle added.

“As I always say, I just thought ‘why not have a shot?’ It went in and we took the three points. It was a great day.”

There’s no better time for Walker to double his tally and match that of his fellow full back Benoit than on Sunday and if you fancy him to open the scoring, most bookmakers would reward you with a very handsome 40/1 for your optimism.
