It’s been a frustrating time for William Gallas and while we started to become used to his injury absences towards the end of the previous campaign, he has spent most of this season on the sidelines.

William is back however and in the games since his return he has shown that he still has plenty to offer the side and he also believes in a top three finish for Spurs.

“I think the confidence is back. After the draw against Chelsea and the victories against Bolton and Swansea, the confidence is back,” he is quoted as saying on the club website.

“Now, like I said to everyone, every game is a final for us. We have to be strong if we want to finish third.

Gallas also dismissed the fatigue factor as a long season starts to draw to a close.

“We have to play every game with 100 per cent, and at the end of the season we will go on our holidays and feel that maybe we deserved to finish third,” he added.

“Before that we have to give everything. Before the game we have to speak together and we have to know that we are not tired, and that we can be tired at the end of the season.”

With Michael Dawson and Ledley King suffering their own injury setbacks, the return of William Gallas is timely and could be just enough to snatch that third Champions League slot from his former employers.

  1. Gallas is a born leader, great to have him back … together with Scottie and VdV he can inspire the team to go that extra mile.. remember him leading us out to a 3-2 away win at Emirates last year..
