Ryan Nelsen has been speaking on Spurs’ official website as his new team prepare to tackle his old club Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
Blackburn’s own season is still very much alive after their home win over Norwich last week and Nelsen is expecting a hard battle as Rovers fight for their premiership lives.
“Blackburn will be really up for it in the position they are in as well. It will be difficult game, we have to be completely ready for it and up for it, and I know we will be,” Ryan said.
“There are some really good players there.
“Junior Hoilett is a fantastic prospect and we all know about Yakubu, he scores goals wherever he goes.
“They have some dangerous players, certainly, but so have we and we have have to look at this game as a potential three points for us.”
Footballers have a propensity to talk in platitudes, especially when they are interviewed for their own team’s websites, but, Ryan’s last sentence there says everything that needs to be said.
No matter what Blackburn have, it shouldn’t be enough and anything less than three points will be a bit too much for some Spurs fans to accept.
